Monocle is one of my favorite magazines so it was a must that I pay a visit to their shop in Hong Kong, one of three in Asia (there is one in Tokyo and they recently opened in Beijing). The shop sells old issues which are still quite valuable for their coverage of neighborhood shops, city guides and surveys as well as goods from all over the world. They are known for their collaborations with various brands which ranges from shirts, jackets, shorts, accessories, perfumes, stationery and bags. If you can’t make it to any of their shops you can always buy them online.
Their line of bags in collaboration with Porter.
Their July/August issue and new line of bracelets in collaboration with Brooklyn Tokyo.
Pocket squares and neckties in collaboration with The Hill-Side.
The area behind the shop where I suppose the magazine’s staff hang out.
I left with this year’s Monocle Mediterraneo and the Support Japan bracelet they made in collaboration with Brooklyn Tokyo. Don’t forget to pick up some stickers of the shop on your way out.
The Monocle Shop is located at G/F Bo Fung Mansion, St. Francis Yard, Wanchai, Hong Kong. If you’re taking the MTR, get off Wanchai station and take the A3 exit. Walk west along Johnston Road until you reach Gresson Street and go up St. Francis Street.
