The Pherrow’s 466 is my first pair of raw selvedge jeans from Japan. After almost three years of wear I’ve decided to retire them because they’re falling apart. It has gone through countless crotch blowout repairs and is starting to thin where the pockets are located. What you are seeing now is the result of two to three wears each week and washed about six times. As expected it has developed a character of its own with silhouettes of my wallet and mobile phone in the two front pockets, creases around the thighs and honeycombs in the back of the knees. It’s quite awesome to see a pair of raw selvedge jeans age gracefully. I can’t wait to get started on my next pair.
