Kingsman: The Secret Service is the latest unconventional spy thriller to grace the big screen. It is based on The Secret Service comic book series by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons and is directed by Matthew Vaughn.
The film stars Colin Firth as Harry Hart codename Galahad, the veteran secret agent who recruits Eggsy, a delinquent street kid played by Taron Egerton, into a super secret spy organisation. There he joins a group of young recruits who undergo a competitive training program that will determine which one of them will be the next Kingsman with the codename of Lancelot.
The movie has a fantastic supporting cast with Mark Strong as Merlin, a quartermaster of sorts who leads the training programme, and Michael Caine as Arthur, the leader of the Kingsman organisation. Samuel L. Jackson plays Valentine, the psychotic genius and billionaire villain of the movie who wants to solve the world’s global warming problem.
The movie is notable for their well-dressed cast outfitted by some of the best British brands. The shoes are made by George Cleverley, shirts by Turnbull & Asser, ties by Drake’s, briefcases and umbrellas by Swaine Adeney Brigg and glasses by Cutler & Gross. The movie was filmed partly in the shop of Savile Row bespoke tailor Huntsman.
The movie came out ahead in other countries to mostly positive reviews. But it was Jeremy Clarkson who best summed up the movie in a single tweet:
I went to see the movie Kingsman. It was bonkers, relentless and completely brilliant.

The movie is now showing in Philippine cinemas starting today.
