Over the last six months I’ve switched to wearing straighter trousers. I wear my Fullcount 1108 more than my Signet x Fullcount 1109PH even though the former is two sizes larger. Lately my favourite pair of trousers is the Buzz Rickson Original Spec Chino (photo above). The higher rise and straighter leg is more comfortable to wear and looks more flattering.
Everyone experiences buying the wrong size at least once when purchasing online. That’s the common problem when you can’t fit the garment and have to rely on the (largely inaccurate) sizing charts and reviews (from mostly inexperienced people).
These days most, if not all, online retailers allow returns but that becomes more complicated when you’re living in the Philippines, buying from a U.S.-based store and have to send items back. Shipping and taxes quickly add up and suddenly purchasing online is no longer cheap and convenient.
After numerous purchases I can say I have a fair amount of experience to minimize the risk of buying clothes online and make sure that I can wear my purchases when I receive them. This guide should give you the confidence to shop online and skip the costly process of trial and error.

My favorite pair of chinos is almost at the end of its life so I decided to look for a new pair to replace them. I looked at various American brands as they are the ones that offer chinos with a fuller cut and sit on the natural waist. Out of all the brands Brooks Brothers stood out with their Advantage Chinos. They have the Hudson fit that is a relaxed fit with flat fronts and is worn on the natural waist. Brooks Brothers in the Philippines doesn’t offer the Hudson fit so I figured it would be better to buy from online store in the U.S. and have it shipped here. More →
