I’ve missed shaving cream ever since I started using Portland General Store’s Old-Fashioned Wet Shave Jelly. Using a shaving cream just isn’t the same as a shaving jelly. A shaving cream just feels more luxurious and has more moisturizing properties. And that’s what I got with the Almond Shaving Cream by Acca Kappa. For only PHP 695 it was a small price to pay for a high quality product made by one of the oldest and well-known grooming companies in the world that still keeps the production in Italy.

For the last month I’ve been using this for about three to four times each week. I initially had some concerns about the almond scent but it turned out to be mild and there is a slight scent of their 1869 fragrance.

The ingredients used in the product are very high quality. It uses coconut oil, shea butter and lanolin known for their great moisturizing properties. I am aware that some of the ingredients may not be organic or natural such as fragrance but this time I’m making an exception.

The cream is quite solid compared to other creams that I have tried. I pick up a few amounts of the product using my shaving brush, dip it in water and twirl. I gradually add water until it forms a rich and creamy lather.

This shaving cream provides a good cushion. You can get a very close shave without pressing the blades on your skin too much. The almond scent only lasts during the shave. The cream leaves your skin soft and smooth to the touch afterwards. I haven’t had any problems like redness or any form of irritation.

Acca Kappa’s Almond Shaving Cream is the best I have used so far. It delivers a great shave for a good price and should last about six months per jar. I highly recommend it and would make a great addition to any man’s shaving arsenal.

Acca Kappa’s Almond Shaving Cream is available at Rustan’s Department Store. They also have shaving creams in tubes but resist the temptation as the ones that come in a jar are generally much better.
