Last Thursday Menswear Syndicate held its first Cigar and Cognac Night together with Tabacalera Incorporada and Remy Martin at The Cigar Bar by Casablanca. Remy Martin VSOP cognac was paired with Tabacalera Incorporada’s newest cigar, the 1881 Perique, and one of their bestsellers, the Don Juan Urquijo. It was a fun evening enjoying cognac and cigars with old and new faces. Cheers to good cognac, good cigars and good company!
Menswear Syndicate Meetup
Last Tuesday we held our largest ever Menswear Syndicate Meetup at Torch in Greenhills. There were plenty of new faces including women who support their partner’s hobby. Amongst the attendees were the people behind Felipe and Sons Barberdashery, Jeeves of Belgravia, and Vault magazine. We started the meetup with Raymond Villanueva talking about how he started Sapatero Manila and his future plans for the brand. Next Jason Qua and I talked about Tricker’s and Carmina shoes that lost+found is carrying. The last activity was Edmond Lim showing everyone how to achieve a “mirror shine” on a pair of shoes. It was a fun night with old friends and new acquaintances brought together by our shared passion for menswear. Thank you to everyone who came and supported the meetup!
Last week we held our second big Menswear Syndicate Meetup. We had a great turnout with a good split between newbies and regulars. The various styles (streetwear, workwear, preppy, classic) were well represented with many of the attendees having their own brands or tailoring outfits. We started with introductions and those who have their own labels or businesses were asked to talk more about their products and services. The discussion was lively with everyone openly sharing their knowledge and experiences.
We had a great turnout at the Menswear Syndicate Meetup held two weeks ago. There were over 20 people who attended the meetup representing various styles. There were those into workwear, streetwear, high street and classic menswear. Many of the attendees had their own clothing brands notably Marvin Conanan of Chief Clothing and the trio behind Newspaper Boy Clothing. The core Menswear Syndicate team was present (that’s us in the back in the photo above) and we shared our experiences with local tailors and purchasing items from abroad. We also asked each one to share what their background was and their kind of style. It was great to see everyone talking menswear and sharing their related interests and experiences. If you are interested in joining the next meetup watch out for announcements on this blog. Special thanks goes to Purveyr for helping us get the word out, Esquire Philippines for giving away free copies of their magazine and to Victor Basa for being the official photographer.
