Hello sir! I just recently found your blog and I already bookmark-ed it. 🙂 I find it very informative, well researched and well written. kudos for that!I was really looking for a blog that is ‘kinda’ catering for the needs of the not-so-slim-type-of guys (no offense though ) because lots of blogs out there, I think, are focusing more on how to dress skinny and all. I guess yours is my answered prayer. lol! so please keep your posts coming!!! I want to ask for your advice about choosing the right kind of pants for ‘plus size men’ like me. I actually have problems on my thighs coz I think it’s big and every time I wear pants I really feel it didn’t fit me well. is it advisable just to wear shorts during casual days instead of jeans? btw, I was also searching for Ascot Chang location here in metro but then your post about picking a tailor made me consider our local sastres. kaya lang like you said most of them are inexperienced.
First of all, thank you for the compliments. I strive hard to maintain high standards.
A tailor is your best friend when it comes to achieving the right fit. I suggest having one pair of trousers made first and then make adjustments on succeeding pairs. Continue to refine them until they are perfect for you.The Philippines is a tropical country and our cities are not very urban so, yes, it is all right to wear shorts. As a personal rule I only wear shorts on Saturdays and Sundays and only if the sun is out. I would not say they are inexperienced. Local tailors simply do not use certain techniques real bespoke tailors have developed over decades and generations of tailoring. The important thing is that they can make clothes that will fit you well.
