Trusted barbers Mak Azores and Ez Abinal, two of the three founders of the barber collective Slick Barbers Co., have separated from the group. They have gone on to establish their own barbershop, Heavyhands Barbershop, which started operating in March. The space they are currently occupying was previously leased to Red Trend, a streetwear shop where Slick Barbers Co. would pop-up on weekends.
The interiors of Heavyhands Barbershop is simple yet adorned with artwork on the walls and glass windows giving the shop its own identity. The branding is definitely a departure from trendy barbershops we’ve seen yet one can expect the same quality of haircuts. If you’re into classic hair styles such as fades and pompadours you owe it to yourself to get a cut here.
